Our Fun Diving trips around the are available daily.  We limit diver numbers to four divers with each dive master or instructor and do our best to make sure divers with similar experience are grouped together.

All of us that dive have had the experience of diving for the first time after certification or after a break from diving, so for those that think they need it – we offer a free refresher under the guidance of an instructor.

Trips to the national marine park normally involve two dives whilst local trips three dives.  See ‘Dive Sites’ for more information.

We give instruction and guidance to the snorkelers and have reference books on board about the marine life.

Occasionally, the conditions may be acceptable for diving but uncomfortable for snorkeling.  We would always advise against the activity if we thought it better to go another day.

PADI DISCOVER SCUBA DIVE EXPERIENCE

‘As divers we believe that scuba diving is something that everyone should try, but we also understand that it is not for everyone……’

Why not find out? We will give you some simple instruction on diving theory followed by the use and safety of the equipment in a pool or shallow water.  It is the best way to prepare a novice for the open water.

We follow that the next day with a boat trip and take you on two dives in the open water to a maximum of 12 metres.

It is a great way of discovering the underwater world under the very close supervision of an instructor.

The experience includes a log book and registration with PADI International which can be used as a credit towards the cost of an Open Water Course.

The safety and comfort of the Discover Scuba Diving programme is of paramount importance and the time under water will be determined by them.  In line with our mission statement, however, those that are enjoying the experience will gain valuable time under water to prepare them for an Open Water Course.

It is our policy, though the dive agencies allow for more, that our instructors are limited to two students each for this programme.

COST: 4,500 baht

PADI OPEN WATER COURSE

A 3-4 day course including theory, pool/shallow water skills and open water dives.  It is the first level course which educates divers to dive with a buddy, unsupervised, to a maximum of 18 metres.

In line with our mission statement, our course includes 6 dives and at least 200 minutes in the open water rather than the minimum standard 4 and (in theory at least) less than 100 minutes.

It is also our policy that each instructor has a maximum of 2 students (the standard is 8) unless there is a specific request from the students, e.g. a family group.

This commitment means that those students requiring extra patience and attention do get it.

The course is normally completed in 3 days, though if a student requires an extra day, there is no extra charge.

COST: 14,500 baht

PADI ADVANCED OPEN WATER

Designed to advance your diving, so you can start right after earning your Open Water Diver certification.

The course helps build confidence and expand your scuba skills through different Adventure Dives. You try out different specialities while gaining experience under the supervision of your Instructor. You log dives and develop capabilities as you find new ways to have fun scuba diving.

Get credit! Each Adventure Dive may credit toward the first dive of the corresponding  Speciality Diver Course. If you’ve already taken a speciality diver course, ask your instructor if you’ve earned credit for an Adventure Dive.

You’ll plan your learning path with your instructor by choosing from a long list of Adventure Dives. There are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and you choose the other three, for a total of five dives.

During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.

Course Standard is 5 Adventure Dives – Koh Chang Divers include 6 dives.  The 6th dive is conducted as a Fun Dive at the start of the course to allow the student to ‘get back’ in the water or a final fun dive putting into practice a combination of the skills learnt on the course.  Photographs are included in the course.

PADI ENRICHED AIR DIVER

The  Enriched Air Diver course is the most popular speciality scuba course. Why? Because scuba diving with enriched air/nitrox gives you more no decompression time, especially on repetitive scuba dives. If staying down longer and getting back in the water sooner sounds appealing, then don’t hesitate to become an enriched air diver.

If you’re a (Junior) Open Water Diver who is at least 12 years old, you can enrol in the Enriched Air Diver Speciality course

You’ll learn why diving with air that has higher oxygen and lower nitrogen content gives you more bottom time, along with enriched air equipment considerations. During a practical session, and two optional scuba dives, you’ll:

  • Discuss managing oxygen exposure
  • Practice analyzing oxygen content in your scuba tank.
  • Set your dive computer for diving with enriched air nitrox.

Whatever it is, to scuba dive with confidence at depths down to 40 metres/130 feet, you should take the Deep Diver Speciality course.

Course standard is four dives – with Koh Chang Divers it is 5 dives. The additional dive can be taken as a ‘get back’ in the water dive at the start or a fun dive at the end. Torch, compass and photographs are included in the course.

PADI WRECK DIVER

Whether purpose-sunk as an artificial reef for scuba divers – like the HTMS Chang, or lost as the result of an accident, wrecks are fascinating windows to the past. Ships, aeroplanes and even cars are fascinating to explore and usually teem with aquatic life. Each wreck dive offers a chance for discovery, potentially unlocking a mystery or spying something others have missed. The Wreck Diver Speciality course is popular because it offers rewarding adventures while observing responsible wreck diving practices.

If you’re at least 15 years old and have earned a Advanced Open Water Diver certification equivalent or higher, you can enrol in the Wreck Diver Speciality course.  For the shipwreck we have available here, Enriched Air (Nitrox) and/or Deep 40 would also be an advantage.

There are many different types of wrecks, some of which are protected by laws that guard their historical and cultural significance. Your training starts by  reviewing guidelines for researching and respecting wrecks.

  • Safety considerations for navigating and exploring wrecks.
  • Surveying and mapping a wreck.
  • Using penetration lines and reels to guide exploration.
  • Techniques to avoid kicking up silt or disturbing the wreck and its inhabitants.

Course standard is four dives – with Koh Chang Divers it is 5 dives. The additional dive can be taken as a ‘get back’ in the water dive at the start or a fun dive at the end.  Photographs are included in the course.
